Haircut for a Cause
Matrix Philippines rolls out the 8-Inch “Cut for Cancer” campaign Year 2,
challenging Filipinas to give the gift of hair for Filipino children stricken by cancer

Manila, 2015 – Heartbreaking reports identified that the number of Filipino children diagnosed with cancer are rising by 30 percent annually. According to the Philippine Children’s Medical Center (PCMC), there are over 500 kids being treated for cancer at PCMC alone and this figure is still rising – making it the fastest growing population in the hospital. While the real cure for this is yet to be discovered, Matrix Philippines aids in bringing normalcy among these kids’ lives through launching last year the first ever Matrix 8-inch Cut for Cancer Challenge, an initiative under its worldwide program called “Matrix Chairs of Change”, which allows salon communities and stylists to make a difference through their craft.

With the goal of uplifting more lives of Filipino children braving the battle against cancer by donating medical hair wigs, trusted American professional brand, Matrix, on its second year takes on the challenge to gather hairdressers and Filipino women nationwide to make a difference by sharing their talent and their hair, respectively. The campaign is in partnership with David’s Salon, who pledged 80 hairdressers to share their talent for the cause, and with Kythe Ateneo, who will serve as the beneficiary.

“On this one-day only event, in celebration of Child Cancer Awareness Month on September, our goal is to bring together Filipinas to donate at least 8 inches of their hair that will then be turned into wigs to be donated to kids undergoing cancer treatment,” shared Inah Ramos, Senior Product Manager of Matrix Philippines. “As we encourage our stylists to make a difference through their craft, we would like to share the mission of Matrix to everyone to be able to touch and change lives of more Filipino children fighting cancer.”

From August 1 to September 18, Filipino women are invited to register to be part of the movement by signing up at www.MatrixCutfForCancer.com. Then on September 19, all registered volunteers can head to
2nd Level Mega Atrium of SM Megamall to have 8 inches of their hair cut and be transformed into children’s wigs.

For the second run of the Matrix 8-Inch Cut for Cancer campaign, last year’s ambassador and among the first who took the challenge, Maxene Magalona, passes on this igniting act this time to her own sister, Saab Magalona - Bacarro. With cancer awareness as an advocacy that is very close to their hearts, both ambassadors share the same goal of inspiring and encouraging more Filipinos to make a difference in the lives of kids battling cancer.

With 35 years of global salon success and currently present in 58 countries, Matrix continues the Chairs of Change journey with the Matrix 8-Inch Cut for Cancer Year 2. “Matrix and our partners are proud to join this worldwide movement in increasing priority given to cancer patients to remain inspired and continue the fight with confidence,” added Ramos.

Are you ready to accept the challenge this year to give Filipino children an option to live with confidence and expression? For more information about the campaign and to register for the Matrix 8-Inch Cut for Cancer, please

It's been a long time since i last posted about a nail salon
I really love having my nails done because it's one of my way to release stress.
As what they always say "Never forget to pamper yourself"
It is important to indulge yourself sometimes and enjoy life!

So last-week, luckily i was invited to attend the first anniversary of
Nailogy (Pasig Branch)

DSCN9045

A ribbon cutting was held and graced with the presence of
the people behind Nailogy and it's valued clients.

DSCN9136
The Operations Manager of Nailogy, Marilyn Adao, Valued Clients Mae Abarca, Cindy Quirante and Rutchel Sotto , The Managing Partner of Nailogy Celine Kimpo-Cordeta and HR Manager Pinky Rojas.
I never hesitate to attend this event simply
because i want to be pampered and  try a new nail salon.
It's my first time at nailogy together with my blogger friends
It is under Nailogy Beauty Concept Corporation.
It has sister companies and brands, Lunula and Hue Studio Salon.
It is located at the SM Center Pasig near tiendesitas.

They also have other branches at the 3rd Floor of Robinsons Manila (1st branch)
& 3rd Floor of Robinsons Galleria.

Before attending this event, I've already heard a lot of good things
about Nailogy. Now I've experienced it on my own.

They just got my heart out when I have entered their salon.

DSCN9047

I love the red interiors plus their mani-pedi chairs and
couch were very comfortable to use.

DSCN9046

They can also accommodate huge number of clients because
They have I think a total of 12-14 chairs. It’s a perfect venue for a nail sparty!

Now it's time for my mani-pedi sesh. <3

DSCN9100

As for my nails, I've chosen the golden silver glittery color and dark red.
I don't know i just want some spark! *haha*

DSCN9065

My pedicure session were very relaxing with a free massage from my nail tech.
I also love how clean her work is and she wanted it to look perfect.

DSCN9070

Aside from the manicure and pedicure.
I have also tried their underarm waxing.

Here's a glimpse of my waxing session last week.

DSCN9106
Nailogy's Waxing Room
DSCN9108
Sorry for the blurred photo. It's hard to take photos on my own during the waxing session *haha*
DSCN9124

It's pain free and hair free!
My underarms felt more smoother and it seems like i now have a new
favorite waxing salon. I can't even see a single tiny hair on my armpit after
the waxing session. Good job nailogy!

Overall, I enjoyed my experience at Nailogy.
I can see myself going back to this salon at least once a month but
if they will have a new branch at Quezon City i might be one their valued clients.
When it comes to service, all staffs were very accommodating.
I love how they smile genuinely.
I also love that each and every one of their staff has a shop name like smile, red and etc.
I find it very unique and it’s my first time to heard about a shop name so we asked one of the
owners about it and she have stated that they have decided to give their staff a shop name to prevent
having the same name with their clients.

I just really love how they value all their clients.

As part of Nailogy's 1st Anniversary celebration,
we are giving away a P100 discount voucher on any services for all my readers!

You can take a screenshot of this voucher and present it on the nearest Nailogy branch.

Thank you loves! :*

There are times where we want change and we want to look more beautiful.
Basically when we say change, we often go to the salon and have our hair done with a hairstylist.
But you must admit that it's more costly.
It will cost you thousands just for a hair coloring treatment so I came up with this post for you to save more time and money.
You just have to keep calm and trust yourself :)

Just like you guys I also felt scared before I colored my own hair because the last time I tried coloring my hair, it wasn't applied evenly so my hair looks like a brown zebra. Just kidding! But seriously this time, my experience was totally different.
I love how I colored my hair now and I'm proud of it.

I feel like i'm now a professional hair stylist (in my dreams) :)
So now I'm gonna share the actual hair coloring treatment that
I have done on my hair in just 4 simple steps
. Yes you read it right :)
4 simple steps :)

Here’s the before photo of my hair

DSCN8993

DSCN8995

Please excuse my dry hair and black roots :)
by the way my hair was bleached before and has been damaged.

Achieving excellent care and color at the comfort of your own home has never been this easy with the six newest shades of Excellence Fashion by L’Oréal Paris delivering only the richest care for the richest color. From Excellence Fashion’s auburns, nude browns and intense brown shades – Intense Violet Brown, Ashy Nude Brown, Intense Copper Brown, Golden Nude Brown, Intense Lustrous Auburn, and Intense Golden Auburn

So now, I'm gonna use the L'oreal Excellence Fashion 6.13 in Golden Nude Brown.

DSCN8971

I chose the Golden Nude Brown shade to lighten the color of my hair.
I also want my black roots gone :)

So let's start the DIY L'oreal Excellence Fashion Hair Coloring Treatment?
Game?

Here's the first step!

STEP #1

Use the L'oreal Paris Excellence Fashion Protective Pre-Color Serum.

DSCN8973

You need to squeeze generous dose of the Protective pre-color serum
on your hand and apply it to the lengths and ends of your hair.

Leave it while you're coloring your hair

STEP #2

Mix the Protective Creme Colorant and the Creme Developer

DSCN9001

You need to pour the creme colorant (2) into the creme developer bottle (3)

DSCN9008 DSCN9010

After pouring the creme colorant, replace the applicator cap and shake it vigorously.

"Twist off the tip of applicator immediately after mixing to
avoid the bottle bursting and damage from the product overflowing"

Change the applicator cap into a comb applicator.

DSCN9015 DSCN9013 DSCN9016

You can choose to use the comb applicator on lengths.
It glides easily through hair and is ideal for mid-length or
straight hair.

STEP #3

Apply it all over your hair

DSCN9028

It's your choice if you to apply it all over your hair or
you just want a color touch up.

I decided to concentrate more on my black roots and i really really
love the comb applicator. It makes life easier! (haha)

Here's a close up photo of my roots.

DSCN9020

After applying the color mixture on my roots,
I applied it all over my hair.

DSCN9026
DSCN9025

After spreading it all through my hair, I massaged the color mixture
on my hair until it's fully saturated.

After massaging my hair, i just let it develop for 30 minutes.

STEP #4

You need to rinse and condition your hair using the Protective Conditioner

DSCN8982

Pour a little warm water on your hair and massage it gently.
Rinse it thoroughly until the water runs clear.

After rinsing, evenly spread the Protective Conditioner all over your hair
then massage it gently.

Leave in hair for 2 minutes.

After 2 minutes, rinse it thoroughly.
This Protective Condition will help you protect your color,
making your hair shine and silky soft.

I personally love this conditioner my hair become super soft after the coloring session.

Are you guys excited to see my hair?

Well here it is!

20150906_180128 20150906_180000

I super love the new color of my hair.
The color of my hair matches very well on my skin tone
plus my hair becomes more soft and less damage.
I guess i can now change the color of my hair as long as
i am using the L'oreal Excellence Fashion.
It was so easy to apply special thanks to its
handy hair coloring applicator and protective pre-color serum
that gives my hair an excellent care.

Now, more women can finally get the perfect auburns, nude browns and intense browns with unprecedented reflects, unrivalled elegance, and ultimate brilliance – all at the convenience of their own home. Choose your Excellence Fashion shade and confidently tell your color story.
There’s no need to fear changing your hair color every so often as your hair gets optimum care treatment each and every time you dye your hair.
